Dr Emily Dao

Dr Emily was born and raised in Melbourne, but feels like Mornington has been her second home, with her family taking regular trips here growing up.

She graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Biomedicine and Doctor of Dental surgery degree, where she was recognised for her academic excellence with various awards including the Dean’s Honour List.

Prior to joining the family at The Smile Place, she had exposure to both public and private sectors across various clinics in metropolitan and regional Australia. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and has a particular interest in preventative and restorative dentistry.

Her favourite part about being a dentist is to being able to meet patients from all walks of life. She believes the dentist should be a positive experience and finds it most rewarding to help patients overcome their dental anxiety with her gentle, honest and holistic approach. She always ensures her patients are well informed and are as comfortable as possible. She is also fluent in Teow Chew and proficient in Mandarin!

In her spare time, you can find her dessert hopping around Melbourne or planning her next travel adventure! If you have any must-visit destinations, her travel list is always open to new suggestions!
