The first step in the whitening process is impressions.
These impressions will be made into custom whitening trays. The trays will fit onto your teeth perfectly so that the whitening product remains on your teeth, and not your gums. If your teeth have calculus on them, you will achieve a better whitening result if you have your teeth professionally cleaned prior to commencing the whitening treatment.
The second step is to place the whitening solution in the trays and wear them for a 30minutes a day.
Within 7-10 days, you should see a significant improvement in the colour of your teeth.
Your smile will look brighter and younger.
Why keeping our teeth their whitest is a lot harder than it sounds.
Coffee, wine, smoking, curries, and other foods that have the ability to stain our teeth make it difficult to keep teeth white.
Even with proper brushing and flossing, teeth darken over time. Improvements in teeth whitening can restore the natural colour of your teeth, or even make them whiter than your natural colour if you prefer.
Whitening works on natural teeth and does not change the colour of any crowns, bridges, implants or composite restorations (fillings) that you may already have. We will inform you as to the suitability of your mouth for whitening. We do not recommend laser whitening.
Whilst both types of whitening achieve really great results, in-surgery whitening is an instantaneous result.
In chair whitening can be done in our treatment rooms with a product called ZOOM.
This chairside whitening procedure uses a safe whitening gel and a low intensity light to activate the gel. This combination allows us to provide you with teeth that are 6-10 shades whiter in about an hour! We also provide custom made trays and whitening gel for you to continue to whiten at home. We will provide you with enough gel to top-up your whitening in 6-12 months – just to keep that smile nice and bright!
